Math: Students will be continuing along in chapter 3: Multiplication and Division of fractions. Students will spend time strengthening their understanding of multiplication and be introduced to division of fractions.
Readers' Workshop: Students will continue along in their nonfiction reading. We will practice using strategies to help us find main ideas and supporting details.
Writers' Workshop: Students will research a subtopic within Westward expansion and continue along in their flash draft.
Social Studies: Students will be learning about American Indian Cultural Regions in Chapter 3. We will study their homes, clothing, and tools they used to survive in their environment.

Items to Note:
- We are so proud of our fifth graders! They did an awesome job at their concert. The kids have worked hard in music class, and the entire week during specials time preparing. #creativity #perseverance
How to help out:
- Fifth Grade will be collecting CANDY CANES for our fundraiser in December. We sell a TON of candy canes and need as many donations as we can get! The more that are donated, the more money that goes to our end of year field trip!
- On Wednesday, December 4th, fifth grade students have the opportunity to volunteer to see candy grams during the Holiday Shop. This is an after school event. A note will be coming home today regarding this opportunity!
- Fifth grade will be selling candy canes the following week (December 9-13) as pre-orders only. Fifth grades not only get to participate in the pre-orders, but also get to be elves delivering all the candy grams to the other grade levels!
- Please let me know if you are interested in helping with a sign up genius, craft, or game for the Holiday Party! More details to come!
