Academic and P2 Highlights for next week:
Positivity Project: This week we are learning about the other people matter mindset- supporting others when they struggle. Students will learn to use empathy for their peers and others!
Well... you will notice the academics has not changed much from last week...we obviously did not get as much done as anticipated! We will be continuing with much of the same content next week! Ha!
Math: We have begun unit 4, which is the multiplication and division of whole numbers and decimals. The homework packet made it's way home this week. Students will be getting back to the routine of approximately 15 minutes of homework a night. Be sure to ask your child about homework as it may take a few days for them to get back into a routine!
Readers' Workshop: This week we are starting our mini-unit on historical fiction. Students will be reviewing various story elements in relation to historical fiction. Students will be reading a book with a partner during this unit!
Writers' Workshop: Students will use what we learned last week about the structure of literary essays to begin writing a new literary essay on a short story of their choice.
Social Studies: Chapter 4: Students will be learning how and why Europeans migrated to America. We will be studying the various challenges as well as successes of these Native Americans.
