Academic and P2 Highlights for next week:
Positivity Project: This week we are learning about fairness. We are going to learn that fairness means everyone gets what they need to succeed!
Math: Chapter 6: Multi-step story problems with all operations: Students will continue working on story problems involving fractions and decimals.
Readers' Workshop: Students will be finalizing their research for their upcoming debate on a high-interest topic of their choice! The debate will occur at the end of the week!
Writers' Workshop: Students will be using their reading topics to revise their argumentative opinion piece making sure they including lots of convincing reasons with supporting evidence.
Science: Students will be continuing to explore space and answering the question, "Why is the sun the only star we usually see during the daylight?" We have some fun investigations planned to help the students understand our solar system! See below to take a look at some of the models students have created to share their thinking!

- Thank you to everyone for coming out to parent-teacher conferences. The connection between school and home is so crucial to a child's success!
- Fifth grade field trip packet went home Thursday! Please email me with any questions. We sent it home early to help give everyone enough time to account for the fee. Please let me know if you need assistance! Extra copy is attached here if needed.
- A yellow slip went home about the upcoming Growing Healthy Video. You have an opportunity to watch it when you come to conferences if you wish!
Weekly "How to Help at Home" Tip! :
- MStep begins after spring break! Please make sure your child gets plenty of sleep, eats a healthy breakfast, and arrives to school on time. On testing days we typically start testing as soon as we get settled and test for an hour. Please do your best to avoid tardies and absences during this time. Thanks for your help in making M-Step a smooth process!
