Student Blog:
This week we started our second part of the second cycle of science. We started learning about why we can’t see the other stars other than the sun during the day. We did an activity in the gym with all of 5th grade. We compared sizes of objects when they are close up or far away.
In math, we started reviewing for our common assessment next week. We reviewed everything from the last 2 units. We took the aMath test for the first semester. We also started making corrections on our last test on unit 4.
We started table points this week. We form teams with the people that we sit next to. At the end of the week the team with the most points gets a prize. We don’t know what the prize is until the end of Friday.
We finished our read aloud “Freak the Mighty” that we started after Thanksgiving break. We also started our historical fiction unit by starting another read aloud called “Mercedes and the Chocolate Pilot”.
