- If you haven't gotten an opportunity to return the pre-conference form, please have your child bring it on Monday. We are excited to share with you all we have been learning in the classroom! Students are putting together a portfolio of their final products in each subject throughout the quarter for you to view at conferences. If you would like to see the scores ahead of time- everything has been entered into Power School.
Weekly "How to Help at Home" Tip! :
- Reading 100 minutes per week helps students grow up to be successful readers! This helps students with fluency, comprehension, and reading stamina.

This week in room 107, we had PE with a sub and played man from mars. On Tuesday, there was a big snow storm which caused us to have a fun snow day!
How to help out:
- Fifth Grade will be collecting CANDY CANES for our fundraiser in December. Stay tuned for more details!
Academic and P2 Highlights for next week:
Positivity Project: Next week we will be learning about the other people mindset- knowing my words and actions affect others. We will learn and grow that what we do matters to others!
Math: Students will be beginning chapter 3: Multiplication and Division of fractions. Students will spend time modeling their understanding of repeated addition of fractions.
Readers' Workshop: Students will be wrapping up their analyzing theme unit by studying author's techniques and goals to help us better understand our books.
Writers' Workshop: Students will begin researching Westward Expansion in our social studies books in preparation for our Informational writing unit.
Social Studies: We will finish reading Chapter 2 Native Americans and their Land. Students will learn about winter Sioux Counts and be creating one of their own. Chapter two test will be on Friday, November 15th. Students will be taking home a study guide to help them prepare. Students will not be able to use their book or notes on the test.
