This week we learned many things. In word study we did our second word unscramble. Everyone got many 5, 4, and 3 letter words, but none got they bonus letter word. On Tuesday, and Wednesday we all got our no excuse words to practice. Lots of people thought these words were very easy. On Friday we all sat down and started the no excuse word test.
In math we all started getting more experienced with fractions. On Monday and Tuesday we all worked on knowing how to tell if two fraction are equivalent. On Wednesday and Thursday we all learned how to do more complicated fraction comparing, which is seeing which fraction is greater out of the two fractions. Then on Friday we all did some fraction word problems, then we all sat down and played a fun math game called prodigy.
In science we all had tons of fun. On Monday and Tuesday we all set up our science notebooks. On Wednesday we all watched water boil, in cast iron and aluminum pans to see which one chefs would use to have water boil faster. The cast iron won, the aluminum lost. On Thursday we tested different types of metal to see which metal burned the Crisco faster. Then on Friday we all delivered our Crisco melting times to a data chart.
Then in reading and writing we wrote short life stories on past important times. On Friday we wrote stories about a racoon picture. In reading we read about 26 mins each day, and did pretty well on staying focused, on Wednesday Thursday and Friday.
Our week was fantastic! We can't wait for next week!
